What to expect ...
The tour will begin with a visit to the “Pure” Chocolate Museum, where we will learn about the story behind Pure Chocolate, enjoy hot chocolate and take part in a workshop to make our own chocolate sweets.
At the rural homestead “Kangari”, edible snails are farmed alongside traditional berries and fruits. Here, participants will have the opportunity to taste edible snails as well as dried berries and fruits.
Next, we will visit the local Wine House in the Kandava Old Town, where a new generation of winemakers will share their experience in growing grapes and producing wine in Latvia. A wine tasting will follow, featuring wines produced by the family-run winery “Kaimiņmuiža”.
Lunch is planned at the family restaurant “Nāriņa”.
After lunch, we will travel along a scenic stretch of the ancient Abava Valley, enjoying the natural landscapes on our way to Jaunpils Castle, where we will learn about the history of this medieval castle.
At the end of the day, we will visit the Jaunpils Crafts House, home to active groups of weavers, ceramicists, seamstresses, knitters and other small-scale craft practitioners.
The visit will conclude with dinner prepared by skilled local artisans.
